Faultless Healthcare Linen has three HLAC certified laundry facilities devoted entirely to the processing of medical linen and apparel only - with one in Kansas City, MO; another in Kansas City, KS, and a third in St. Louis, MO. A fourth is expected to be certified in St. Louis early in 2013.
The Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council's mission is to accredit laundries processing healthcare fabrics in accordance with the best standards for patient safety and infection control.
HLAC accreditation confirms that a laundry business which processes healthcare linens has properly completed an inspection of the facility, policies and procedures, training services, and its interactions with its healthcare clients. The evaluation is founded on Accreditation Standards for Processing Reusable Textiles for Use in Healthcare Facilities, 2011 Edition. These Standards have been created, released, and are based on federal regulations and rules, in addition to best industry practices.
HLAC Accreditation implies that the laundry has satisfied the Standards published by HLAC- The Accreditation Standards for Processing Reusable Textiles for use in Healthcare Facilities, 2011 Edition, including the entire textile processing cycle, from dealing with and transporting soiled healthcare textiles, to in-plant processing as well as back to the client. The Standards also include quite a few fundamental factors, including facility layout, staff training, and also customer care. Special attention has been given to OSHA required practices, such as Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Standards.
The HLAC Inspectors are independent contractors who have a wide-range of expertise and knowledge of the healthcare laundry industry. They have the knowledge, skills and abilities to properly process laundry based on established standard processes. HLAC supplies the Inspectors with in-depth training concerning the HLAC Standards.
